I have always been interested in Art and Design but have had no formal training other than a basic pottery course, when my children were very young, many years ago.

I began playing with clay again about twelve years ago, becoming a member of Back to Back Gallery roughly two years ago.

My interest is in ceramic sculpture and all my pieces are hand built. Over the years I have developed an eclectic style influenced by a long held interest in Eastern Culture and happy memories of my travels.

Although I have worked with many different types of clay, at the moment I’m enjoying working with earthenware paper clay as it enables me to include a lot more detail in my work. I start with a ball of clay, an idea and the work evolves from there. It’s the face that intrigues and challenges me.

Most of my work has been sold privately, a few in the retail sector. I have recently started exhibiting my work and was highly commended at Dobell Arts and Crafts Exhibition 2009.
