Helen received her ceramic qualifications at East Sydney Technical College under the tutelage of Peter Rushforth and Shiga Shigeo.

She has exhibited and taught at TAFE and University in Sydney and Newcastle for many years.

Currently her work comprises handformed sculptural vessels and a range of wheelthrown domestic ware in china and porcelain. The sculptural vessels are layered with many coloured slips and scraped and sanded back to reveal subtleties of surface and colour reminiscent of eroded landscapes and archaeological aging of buildings.

Helen’s work is in the collection of Newcastle Region Art Gallery and private collections in Australia, New Zealand and the Caribbean.
