Currently on a break from completing her PhD Sandra’s work varies in both its scale and materials used. Having started her career in art at the Hunter institute of TAFE (ceramics) she went on later to do her Bachelor of Fine Art achieving honours class 1 at the University of Newcastle.
While there Sandra received The Jenny Thomas Travelling Arts Scholarship and the Newcastle University Faculty Medal in 2005.
Since then Sandra has been demonstrating for the Ceramics Department at the University of Newcastle, has lectured for the Ceramics Department at the University of Newcastle, taught at the Hunter Institute of TAFE and run the Ceramics course for Hunter Community College.
This year Sandra has opened a business selling ceramic work through her viewing room.
Her work varies from small slip cast ware to larger platters with design elements featuring impressions of native flora to expressive painterly styles. This is her product line.
Sandra is still making ‘fine art’ and exhibits in group shows frequently where she speaks through the imagery that she creates.
