Artist Statement

In the year 2000 I made a decision to embark on a life long desire to try my hand at pottery/ceramics and have been continuing the journey ever since, most of all enjoying it.
I spent three years teaching children ceramics on Saturday mornings at Newcastle Studio Potters where I have been an active member for eight years. It was a great opportunity to allow Children to explore 3D art in clay, giving them the opportunity sooner rather than later to experience this amazing art form.

I just love to create. Some of my influences are from nature and the ebb and flow of it. I spent a lot of time as a young person exploring the New Zealand bush land that was literally at my back door.
I also love design and enjoy taking a domestic form and seeing how it can be reinvented and remain functional.

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Newcastle University and loving the opportunity, one I thought I would never have.
And so the Journey continues…..
